Verse & Vertex (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Policy explains what information we collect when you visit verseandvertex.com (the “Site”), sign up for our newsletter, contact us, or shop with us on Etsy — and what we do with that information.
We collect as little as we reasonably can. We do not sell your personal information.
Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Your name and email address when you sign up for our newsletter.
- Information you provide when you contact us (name, email, the contents of your message).
- Order and shipping details when you purchase from our Etsy shop — collected and stored by Etsy on our behalf.
Information collected automatically:
- If you accept the analytics cookie banner, Google Analytics collects usage data — pages viewed, approximate location (city-level), device and browser type, referrer, and a pseudonymous identifier. IP addresses are anonymised before being stored.
- Standard server logs maintained by our hosting provider may record IP addresses and request information for security and operational purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for, including the welcome discount code and occasional updates about new pieces.
- To respond to your messages and support requests.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it (only if you accept analytics).
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics sets cookies that identify your browser pseudonymously. We only load Google Analytics after you click “Accept” on our cookie banner. If you click “Decline,” no analytics scripts are loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. We do not run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party trackers beyond Google Analytics.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing your site data in your browser, which will cause the cookie banner to appear again on your next visit.
Newsletter — Kit (formerly ConvertKit)
Our newsletter is managed by Kit (kit.com). When you subscribe, your name and email are sent to Kit and stored on their servers, which are located in the United States. Kit acts as a data processor on our behalf. You can read Kit's privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You may also email us at support@verseandvertex.com to request removal.
Etsy Transactions
Purchases are completed on Etsy, not on this Site. Etsy collects and processes payment information, shipping addresses, and order details under Etsy's own Privacy Policy. We receive only the information Etsy provides to us as the seller (your name, shipping address, order details, and any messages you send us through Etsy). We use this information solely to fulfil your order.
Sharing & Disclosure
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and business (e.g., Kit for email, Google for analytics, our hosting provider, Etsy for transactions) — each bound by their own privacy obligations.
- Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case you'll be notified.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Data Retention
We keep newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Contact-form messages are kept for up to two years for support and reference. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention setting (currently 14 months). Order records may be retained longer where required by tax or accounting law.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of it. Children's Privacy
Verseandvertex.com is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction — including using HTTPS, working only with reputable service providers, and limiting access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make material changes, we'll highlight them on this page for at least 14 days.
